Attending a workshop in Plein Air and adding a new medium; this time gouache. The Workshop was help in Rosebud, Alberta and was part of an international Plein Air painting festival. Our instructor form Philadelphia, New Jersey originally came up to show us the fine art of painting in Gouache.
It was pretty chilly with a strong cold wind on the saturday but Sunday was gorgeous as ever a fall day could be.
I broke my wrist so am painting left handed. Funny I pose ready to paint right handed. But I painted my little gouache as a lefty and its okay! There were 60 artists from all over (including one from Spain) who attended the event, On the Sunday there was a show and sale. It was pure delight to see all the paintings from the artists over the 5 days.
This is where I stayed at he Kin and Kith in Rosebud. It was the old firehouse and the inside was so adorable. A Large kitchen and fireplace new appliances and a cute little ladder to the 2nd bedroom loft. Artists form the FCA and myself attended the Rosebud theatre production Stones in My Pocket and enjoyed the most fabulous all you can eat buffet! If you haven't been to this quiet little town that focusses on its art community you Need To Go! Its the home of the school for theatre productions.
