Workshop FCA with Brent Lynch - plein air in studio

I was really looking forward to this workshop. Brent is so well versed, well travelled & knowledgable.  What a superb instructor and artist. Just by observing his work I could see his interpretation was interesting, his compositions were unexpected; like what he wanted to paint not what he thought we wanted him to paint. I like that.  I applaud him as many of his paintings were in the darker two thirds of the light, painted in shade.

I was pleased that the artist didn't repeat the same rigamarole as most instructors, Brent understood so much about artists and the process, what i admired most was the truth of the psychology of Art and the Artist; simply sometimes we paint, sometimes we can't get into it, and sometimes it is so profound. We live and experience what we paint. It flows from our mind and our veins; both psychologically and physically, the intermix is what we perceive and what we're trying to project; a rhythm, a spacial ride perhaps.

we worked on 3 different scenes in the workshop. the first was lake louise from his own painting.

2. lake agnes  3, san jose dal cabo rock by the seven seas surfing hotel and restaurant.
